Wonder Boy!

Yesterday, Wonder Boy had a big day. I've written about him before, but today it's for happy reasons. :)

K.J.Boy Wonder is a young man of Korean descent. He came to work yesterday (Halloween) dressed as Kim Jong Il, the evil dictator of North Korea.

It was a classic costume. He had a gray, button-down, sharply-pressed shirt. He teased his hair up so he'd look taller. He had the oversized sunglasses hiding most of his face. And he stuffed the lower portion of his shirt so he'd have a fat paunch.

I nearly wept laughing when I saw him. This was a common reaction. It was grand. He really did look like KJ, minus about 40 years.

Somebody said something about calling him "Mr. Il". Wonder Boy replied in his best fake evil-dictator accent that he preferred to be called "Dear Leader". I said, "Whatever, Lil' Kim."

But this isn't the only reason Wonder Boy is being written about! Yesterday was also his birthday!

Mmmmm... Cake!We were informed that there would be birthday cake at the weekly staff meeting. Indeed, there was cake. It was a bunt cake, with an upside-down ice-cream cone in the middle. The cone was covered in dark frosting, and the rest in orange frosting so that the whole thing looked like a pumpkin. It was really cool. I had visions of us cutting the cake and singing, "Happy Birthday Dear Leader."

The meeting went long. At the conclusion of the meeting, another group was waiting to take over the conference room. So Wonder Boy's boss picked up the cake, and left with it.

That's right. I got to see the cake, but I didn't get any. "You can look, but you can't touch!" How distressing.

In any event, I've decided that Wonder Boy needs a new nickname. I shall now call him, "Boy Wonder - Master Of Disguise!"

Happy B-D, Lil' Kim.
